The Go Pro Goes to the Amazon
My dear friend and neighbor, Trudy Crafts-Peck is loaning me her Go-Pro for our upcoming trip to Ecuador on February 2, 2012!
We will return to Coca on February 2nd for a follow up visit to check on the patients and coordinate any additional surgeries that need to be performed to complete their treatments.
No medical team like Hands Across The World had ever visited before. The region known as Coca, in the province of Orellana, is located in the Amazon rainforest, at the confluence of the Napo and Coca rivers, tributaries of the Amazon. There are about 40,000 people living in this region. There is a very rich wildlife everywhere, and it is common to see monkeys and capiabaras roaming around at all times of the day. The National Park Yasuni is the largest reserve in continental Ecuador, with over 2.5 M acres, where the Huaorani hunters still live and keep their way of life.
We will now be able to capture this beautiful country with Trudy’s documentary donation making it a three camera shoot! Thank you Trudy!!!!
